APPLICATION AND RANGE Hand scrapers are used for scraping the pipe areas prior to electrofusion of branch saddles and tapping tees. The area for scraping should be outlined with marker pen and, with good even strokes of the scraper along the length of the pipe, an even layer of approx. 0.2mm of the surface layer should be removed. The operator should be looking for a clean even scrape of the entire area for jointing.
