Polyethylene pipe is a relatively soft material with differing wall thicknesses (SDR rating). This can present problems when attempting to cut it with tools designed for metal. Different techniques are more successful. Slicing the pipe by means of a 'secateur' or 'guillotine' action provides a lasting and effective alternative.
